My Sky HD box keeps crashing when I fast forward

When I fast forward recorded programmes my Sky HD box crashes. It seems to happen when another programme is being recorded. The crash completely shuts down the HD box, which then takes a minute or so before the hard drive winds up again.

My box is around 3 1/2 years old and is made by Thomson. The OS version is 1.32B12 and the EPG version is sky+8.3.2

Is there anything I can do to fix this, or is it a new box?

	Have you checked that those versions are up-to-date? Is it connected however it needs to be for updates? I'm not sure what Sky's warranties etc. are, but I would phone them about it. Early boxes were known to be buggy, but software updates were issued – Sam Brightman Feb 12 at 13:19
	The EPG has been updated in the last few months. I'm not certain it is the latest version though. I will check – GG Feb 21 at 21:47
