I'm looking for an iPod dock with a built-in alarm clock that sounds something like a real stereo, not a bag of tins and rattles. What are my options?

Have you considered the Vita Audio R2i? It has won a What HiFi Award, and has all the features you listed and DAB radio and 2 auxiliary inputs.
